Everything you need to know before your first remote shoot.

What is TMN Remote?
TMN Remote lets a photographer trigger another person’s main back camera in real time to capture full-resolution still images. This is not a video frame grab — it is a native camera capture.
What does the model see on their screen?
The model’s screen is intentionally blacked out. They are standing in front of their phone while the photographer remotely controls the camera. This ensures maximum image quality and prevents screen glare.
Do users need to be friends to shoot?
Yes. Users must be connected as friends before a remote shoot can start. Quick Connect simply speeds up this process by creating the connection request instantly using a User ID.
What is Quick Connect?
Quick Connect lets you enter someone’s TMN User ID to send a friend request instantly. Once accepted, the chat opens and the remote shoot can begin without searching or inviting.
What happens if the connection drops?
TMN Remote uses Metered.ca for real-time connection stability. If a connection drops, you’ll see an on-screen message asking you to wait while it reconnects. If it does not recover, hang up and reconnect to continue the shoot.
What permissions do I need to allow?
You must allow camera, microphone, and storgae permissions. While we don't store images on any devices the devices still require it allowed If any are blocked, the remote capture system will not work correctly.
Do I need special equipment?
A phone stand and light are recommended for best results, but not required. TMN Remote works with just a smartphone and an internet connection.
Who controls the shutter?
The photographer controls when each photo is taken. The model simply poses in front of the phone while the camera is triggered remotely.
Where do the photos go?
Photos are saved directly to the photographer’s TMN Remote library, labeled by model and shoot date. The model does not need to send or upload anything.
Is this secure?
Yes. Only friends can connect, and nothing is captured unless the photographer presses the shutter. All sessions are protected and routed through secure real-time servers.
